No source available in the HTML report
Problem
A dotCover HTML coverage report displays coverage results, but source code is unavailable for the selected node.
Cause
Source code display depends on the selected node and access to source files when the report is generated.
Possible causes include:
- The selected node is a high-level node without a source code link.
- The compiled application was moved with its binaries and PDB files, but the source files are unavailable.
- The coverage snapshot (
*.dcvr) was moved, and the files referenced by the snapshot are unavailable.
The snapshot references PDB files, which contain absolute paths to source files. Coverage data alone does not ensure that source code is available.
Resolution
- Expand the coverage tree until an underlined node appears.
- Select the underlined node to open its source code.
- If source code remains unavailable, make sure the source files exist at the paths recorded in the PDB files.
- If the application or snapshot was moved, generate the HTML report in the original environment where those files remain accessible.
