Please tell us a little more about what you are doing:

is this a coverage from continuous testing or regular test sessions? How many unit test sessions with coverage are active simultaneously? Does the issue resolves if you re-cover all tests in an active session?

i'm using continuous testing (on build run dirty tests). i'm not really sure what you're asking in your other questions. i'm new to the dot cover product, all that i did was turn on continuous testing

Ok, here is my guess:

You turn on continuous testing (but not highlighting), it covers some tests.

Then you edit your code and without building or running tests you turn highlighting on and see such weird things like above.

Does this looks like your scenario?

no, because i still see it if i build, wait for tests to run, then turn on highlighting
