DotCover 3.1 won't run in vs2015rc

I can't get dotcover 3.1 to run in vs2015. I had no issues running it in vs2013 but was wanting to upgrade to vs2015.

Whenever I hit cover the unit tests spin like they're processing, finish with no results (running normally works fine). Mousing over the inconclusive (?) says "Idle Unknow Derived: Unknown"
Just using MSTest.

Any suggestions? I've tried reinstalling both vs and dotcover and running as admin.
Log looks pretty empty.

-edit- i'm going to do a clean windows install tomorrow. I've had a huge amount of issues with visual studios not uninstalling/installing properly as different versions were installed on different drives. I'll update tomorrow if it fixes it.
-edit-edit- did a fresh windows install, still won't run. I'm at a loss.
