Profiling a WCF service hosted in IIS

Hi,

We are in the process of evaluating a .Net app profiler.
We do like dotTrace, but we could not be able to profile WCF services hosted on IIS.
Is it possible profiling a WCF service hosted in IIS using dotNet as redgate's ANTS does?

Thanks,

Jow

Second this question. No easy way to attach to IIS serving up web services. Just get "Control Profiling" dialog with "Stop IIS" option. No option to start profiling or get snapshot.

Hi,

We are investigating the issue. We will either find a way to profile these services using dotTrace 3.1 or include option to profile them into 4.0

Dear Joe,

I have just tested the WCF service sample under dotTrace 3.1 EAP build 355 (the latest verison) for IIS 7.0 & VisualStudion 2008 DevelopmentServer. It works perfectly! The problem for us was only the right IIS7.0 configuration to support WCF. You should know that IIS 7.0 requires some manipulation with folder rights and config files to run our profiler.

Best wishes,

Hi Mikhail,

I am trying to do the same thing. Would you please describe what changed you had to make in IIS configuration in order to make it work?

Thanks
